Hi Don,
Isla is continuing to do very well. Here’s a photo of her from mid-February 2019. We were out on one of the water pipelines located in the former Bowater Mersey lands in the St. Margaret's Bay area. Isla is sporting her Avery neoprene vest she wears on days when were out in the cold for extended periods of time and she is swimming in some of the lakes that are not frozen. Also, it protects her chest when she’s ripping through the dense undercover in the forest (her favorite thing to do, besides swimming). The vest, combined with Musher’s Secret (or similar product) on her feet and she’s well protected and good to go on our hikes through the forest and hills. Her impulse control continues to improve each week. For example, when we meet other dogs, people, or ATVs, Isla sits on command and waits for the next command. She’s doing great with ATVs (we often see ATV folks on some of the trails we travel)… she sits (loose leash) and watches them drive by (as close as 4 feet away from her)… nice and steady! We’re getting there! Her recall continues to progress as well… a 3-tweet trill and she come from as far as 600+ yards in the field or bush. We play a bit of hide and seek on occasion, which she really enjoys. Basically, she has to locate the sound of the whistle and then put her nose in gear when she gets in range of where I’m hiding. Lots of fun.

Willow's birthday pictures
Thanks for letting me know that Willow's birthday pictures made it through to you guys 🙂 She can be quite the poser for the camera! lol I was taking some pics of just my mom with the chocolate birthday cake I got for her and I think Willow was a little jealous or upset I wasn't taking a picture of her cause when I was taking the pictures of my mom, Willow was beside me whining! lol It was funny! Maybe she didn't want to share her special day with my mom or share the attention with anyone else lol I did get some pictures of my Mom and Willow together though - since they both share the same birthday and all 😉. Oh, and I also got a few shots of Willow with her best friend (and her Aunt lol) 😉 Brandy is getting better at having pictures taken 🙂 Yesterday was a fun and enjoyable day for everyone despite the rainy/icy weather, but I did manage to get both dogs out for a little birthday walk together after it stopped raining and before things started to get icy! 🙂

Petsplusus
Hello Don,
Just reading this and noticed that I forgot to mention the name of the insurance company although I did mention it in the subject section. Petsplusus is by far way cheaper than the two companies that are advertised at my vets,, Petsplusus accidental $20, medical/accidental 50. Trupanion accidental $50, medical/accidental $90.There's another company, I can't recall the name, but they were more expensive again. Have a good day.

Merlin still living the life
It’s been a while since I sent you pictures so I figured no time like the present. We had a good day in the woods and Merlin is sleeping it off now - got’er knocked he does! Hard to believe he will be 6 in April.
His sister is a blue heeler and let me tell you, stubborn as they come but I still have to love her because she is Alé’s dog so what does one do?
Also have you heard of Justin Barbour aka the NL Explorer? He has a YouTube page so give him a search. he has backpacked all over NL and Labrador just him and his Cape Shore water dog Saku and he documents these trips and puts docs on YouTube. Really inspiring guy! He trekked 700km from the west coast to the east coast of NL in 68 days 2 years ago and he has 3 episodes of 6 up on YouTube now. Check him out!

Cash's first birthday
Hi Don.
We thought it would be a great day to e mail you, today is Cash's first birthday. We are so pleased with him. He fits nicely into our family and he absolutely adores the children. We continue to work on obedience training and he masters new skills each day. His favorite past time is being outdoors and chewing fresh raw bones. He weighs about 80 pounds now. He makes life interesting and fun. Everyday we are blessed with his good health, strength and personality.
A very happy birthday to the other beautiful litter mates.
