Photos from Isla's session in the field

Hey Don,

What an afternoon in the country Isla had yesterday! I decided it was time to see how she was doing with the basic stuff we’ve been working on and what I needed to do to not inadvertently mess up her natural abilities - which she proved she has tons of, time and time again yesterday. Without going into all the detail, she did really well on everything presented to her. She showed great focus, purpose, and drive. She worked her tail off! She loves birds (and handled them beautifully), loves the water (hits it fast and hard), loves the field (she becomes a different dog when she’s in the field), has great retrieving drive, a good mouth, doesn’t mind the gun at all, and has a ton of drive. Her ability to sight and track birds in the air was really fun to watch… it was if there was an invisible string between the birds tail and her body, despite the incredible distance.

A great day for sure! Now I have to make doubly sure I don’t mess anything up! I attached a few photos. Sorry about the quality (the photos are screen shots from video I took during the session).

Thanks again for a wonderful companion Don and Pirette!

Bruce

Olive update

Good morning Don,

We are having a grand time with your puppy. I sure did forget how much work it is however,  but as they say hard work is rewarding.  I was looking online on a good training book and was wondering if you have a go to book you could suggest. There are so many on here not sure what one would be the best.  Looking forward to any advise!

Cheers from  Kent county

Sam at three months

Sam knows several words - drop it, no, treat, and want to go for a walk.  Lol

That aside, she is wonderful companion and friend.  She is doing extremely well in obedience training.

Hope all is well with you.

Willow loves her 'Grandad!' lol

Willow loves her 'Grandad!' lol 💕  She's such a cuddler!  ..... And Willow and Brandy can be quite the cuddle buddies, too, especially when they're tired after they've had a good play together 😉

❤️Labs leave a lasting impression ..... they leave paw prints on your heart ❤️

Tate update

Hey there Don,

Leigh Ann here. I wanted to let you know we had to say good-bye to Tate last week. She was almost 11 years old, puppy of Mud and Lucas, and we had the most amazing 11 years with her. She developed severe bowel disease and possible lymphoma, so we made the decision to get her euthanized. She was the best dog we could have ever imagined, healthy and happy right up to the last couple of months.

I hope all is well with you, and I hope you know every puppy you release to the world brings so much love and joy.

Take care,

Leigh Ann and Lor

Olive is getting braver with the calves!

Couple of pics of Finch

I, Don,

We have a beautiful, sweet, loyal chocolate lab from you.  Her name is Finch and she brings us such happiness day after day.  We have been recently talking about possibly having another lab.  Can you let us know if you have any expected over the next few months? We'd be happy to chat with you and bring Finch along.

Thanks,
Michael and Kate

Photo of Isla at 15 months.

Hi Don,

Here's a photo of Isla at 15 months. She has a smile just like her father, Dex and enjoys every single day. She weighs in at lean 58 lbs, which is nice considering she needs to be at the top of her game because we're in the woods so often. All is well!

Cheers,
Bruce

Gems mishap here on the Cape

Hi Don,

Thought I send a pic of miss Gems mishap yesterday here on the Cape.

Mr frost pushing up more glass for us to find. Gems & Rye were playing and running around and Gems slice her pad really good on a piece of glass.

Trip to the vet, stitches and bandage up for 14 days.. Gems is very insulted of her new look and she hates the head cone..

Never a dull moment in the life of a labrador .. lol...

Still has puppy eyes!

A few shots from the weekend. Got out for our first camp of the year. Merlin
gets sooky for his couch in the evenings and sleeps directly on top of me in
the tent which is great for warmth but not so much for finding a comfortable
sleeping position!!

Willow update

 Hi Pierrette and Don,

I took Willow for a walk on the Musquodoboit Trailway this afternoon and thought I would share a few pictures with you lol  She sure LOVES going for walks, and just loves being outdoors! I'm sure she'll sleep good tonight! 😉 She is now almost 15 months old and I think she's just the perfect size!
