C&G K-9 School Inc.

C&G K-9 School Inc. on Long Island is a special school for special dogs.

Started in 1972, the school offers dog training programs in basic and advanced obedience. However, the most significant aspect offered to clients is the lifetime training guarantee that is part of the program.

If for any reason your dog should regress after they have trained them, they will retrain your dog at no additional fee.

Also offered when you take their basic obedience course is housebreaking and "special" problems. Destructive chewing, running after cars, jumping up on people, and charging out the door are corrected free of charge!

The premises offer 24 hour staffed supervision, unlike so many other boarding facilities that leave your animals alone throughout the night.

Light home and business protection training are also offered. And should you feel your dog is ready for show business, the owner Pro Castigliano has also trained dogs for theatrical and circus purposes.

Credits for the theater include productions of Annie and Oliver, as well as TV commercials and other industrial plant and retail establishments such as Macys, TSS Stores, and Good Year Tire.

You won't find a better place on Long Island to bring your pet.
Whether for training or boarding, C&G K-9 School offers a caring atmosphere, 24 hour supervision, and a guarantee!

It doesn't get much better than that!

Sable

I just wanted to tell you about our visit to the vet today.

Although he, Alan, had seen her the day after she arrived...he was raving about her. He loved her head*, conformation, etc. (His brother, Gary, is also his partner & they are both 'Fellows' at Cornell. )

Much to my surprise Alan took Sable into the next room, so his brother could see her. When they both came back, they congratulated me on my Dog. Where did I get her, I told them about how Pro sent me to you & gave them your cards.

After that she got her shots; Sable got 5 shots today; Rabies, Lyme Disease, Canine Distemper, &Canine Andenovirus 2, Canine Parvovirus...and she was sleepy all day, so I left her alone. Now She has perked up, and is back to her old self. The vet also gave me a monthly heart worm packet...but I will wait a few days before starting that.

After the shots, I saw Alan do something I have never seen him do with any of my other dogs... He kissed her on top of her head, & said we'll see you in 2 months.

Bill felt that I should tell you this. Bravo!

11/5/05

We just got back from showing Sable to Pro & Joe. They loved her. She played for a it, then laid down to nap. Pro said " I can see She is well put together". I think that says it all.

Thanks Don, Janette

* Sable has had many compliments on her head. I even had a man ask if it was a different breed of Lab, since all the ones he has seen have pointy snouts. I said "No, she is the real thing, imported from Canada!"

Hugo

Hello,

I haven't e-mailed you about Hugo in awhile. He's doing great. I found a really nice vet and he got his 2nd set of shots. She recommended that he lose a pound or two as he still had his big belly on him. He's done that already and looks really good. He is quite handsome I must say. Perhaps referring to my dog as handsome is a sign I should go out on a date soon, lol. The vet said he had good eyes, lungs and heart. I told her about his limping although he's not doing it anymore. She said his right knee was a little loose but that it was common for puppies to be floppy at this stage as their growth plates are still developing. She and everyone else comments on what a good disposition he has. You may be getting some calls for future pups from other Albertans.

He retrieves things and drops them in my hand although he doesn't seem crazy about retrieving yet so I just do it a few times once in awhile to refresh his memory. He does like to carry sticks and stuff in his mouth outdoors. He's keen on birds and will sit and watch them fly by. He knows sit well. He also knows down, and sit-stay. He knows come and is better at it but he's got quite the nose on him so he's not always keen on come outdoors. He's house trained and doesn't chew much; however, I'm sure this is just temporary as he still needs to lose his baby teeth. He's comfortable in his crate and often goes in on his own. He sleeps on the floor; however, I must admit, I have let him on my bed in the mornings at times. He gets truly excited about eating and will remember where food is in the neighborhood. Last week someone dropped a chilly cheese hotdog. He happily managed to eat half of it. He still goes over and licks the sidewalk where he found it for memory sake. He's had a lot of experiences and is a confident pup as a result. He's been hiking and to various parks, had the train go by, been on elevators, played with other dogs, is fine tied up at the coffee shop, seen horses, etc.

I'm very pleased with him and will send some other pictures soon. Hope all is well and thanks again for such a wonderful dog!

Cheers, Deidre

My stuffed lab toy

Hi Don,

I had to go outside to fix the tarp on the dog run and I decided to leave the dogs in the house. I figured they were both asleep what could they possibly do in 5 minutes. Well, have a look for yourself. One of them went upstairs and got my stuffed lab toy and you will see from the pics what happened. I don't now whether to laugh or be mad. You're probably going to have a good laugh.

Great news about Roo!

Yesterday we went up to our local Police Station, to introduce Sable. They had sponsored me for the MS Walk-a-thon & wanted to see her. She felt right at home... crawled over the counter to sit on Officer Kidd's lap.

Sable was a big hit with the Malverne Police.

Officer Kid had lab's & thought her head & confirmation were very good. He said the 'puppy breath' made him want another... after she gets her shots, he will take us down to the pond his Casey swims in.

We met one of your other pups!

Hi Don,

Just wanted to let you know that we met one of your other pups! Chloe was ecstatic! His name is "Tie". Just so happens they live in our neighborhood and ironically she use to be one of my customers at the salon I use to work at. I do forget there names. Tie is one of Roses pups they thought, and my goodness he is beautiful, and a very pleasant dog.

I know that there is a lot of time, money, and passion put into breading your pups. I have to tell you that when any one comes upon one of your dogs or knows any of them, there are no other dogs that can compare. You can almost pick them out right away. Not only are the beautiful looking dogs but very well mannered. You are definitely doing all the right things! So thank you from a very satisfied customer.

Update on Gem

Hi Don,

Hope all is well. Thought I would give you an update on Gem. Last weekend she had two passes on her HRC Seasoned title. She basically nailed all of the components in water and land on both days. Too bad their are not any more tests until April now as she is ready to start on her master title next year. She really has clicked as of late, running blinds, triples, and walkups with lots of enthusiasm!! She will be looked at soon for the show ring, will let you know how that goes. I guess that ice cream cone you gave her At Timmies really pointed her in the right direction! Gem is a very unique dog and apart from her obvious drive, looks and style is often described in our dog circles as being "very cool".

I have one training question for you: I have to train her to honour consistently, and feel that with her strong drive that the collar would be effective. What do you think?

Take care and good hunting,
Ian

Pictures of Jasper

Hi Don,

Here are some pics we have taken of Jasper the past week. The water ones are all from this past weekend at our campground on the Brule shore. She had a BLAST playing with another dog in the campground who was visiting from Ottawa. Hunter, a Golden Retriever and her could have played all afternoon long chasing the bumper and running and rolling in the sand. We had two dirty dogs on our hands!!! She is just a beautiful dog and we still have a hard time going for walks as some people (children and adults) come rushing out to see Jasper to see what progress she has made and how much more she has grown. It is too funny!

jasper

Friday night she had her first sleep in a tent in her crate. She wasn't too sure about that, but finally settled down after 20 minutes or so. Saturday we left her with my family for the whole day and they said she was a very good girl. Sunday, the whole day we were together and were at the beach for most of it having a tonne of fun. She was so exhausted, she slept for the almost 2 hour drive home. When she made it to the bedroom, we didn't hear from her again all night after we got home. :) We will hopefully be going again this weekend. Anyhow, it has been a while since we sent some pictures so, we wanted to be sure to pass them along.

Take care, Angela

Chevelle introduced to the water

Hi Don,

Wow! What A dog! I took Chevelle to camp on Saturday to introduce her to the water. She had a ball! She wouldn't go too deep but it was only her first time. She will go and get the buoy and bring it back to us but she isn't so great at releasing it yet. Thought I would send along some pictures.

Well Hello!

It has been a long time.

Kayla May celebrated her first birthday Friday! She and I had a bit of a
party together (my 48th). She had dog cake, I had ice cream. Or should I
say, she helped herself to the ice cream!

She is the most wonderful Pup ever. She is the sweetest most loving girl!
She and I have formed a very special bond. She is 65 lbs and has such
beautiful coloring. Her eyes are amber, sparkling and very expressive!

She has had training and listens very well for one year old. Most
impressed with her intelligence and LOVE her mischief self!

She plays at day care with several other Labs and (her pal Zarah) and is
wonderfully exhausted at the end of the day!

I have taught the three of the pups to walk together on leashes. we try to
walk everyday., Quite the site I must say. They have learned such commands
as wait, left, right, go easy and" driveway" where they know to stop and
wait for my go ahead command. Kayla May is very patient of the smaller
dogs she almost wants to mother them!

She is an absolute treasure!

I hope that you are well and that you are continuing to enrich the lives of
others with your pups!

Bravo Mr. Bates! and Thank you :)

Bonnie, Chuckie and Kayla May.
