I couldn't have asked for a better dog!

Don, Luck is all boy.  I understand you breed a lot of dogs and Luck may be distant.  I assure you luck has turned out to be the neighbourhood dog.  We have a lot of young children in my area and luck has turned non dog people into dog lovers.  For some kids in the neighbourhood he has changed their perception of dogs.  I couldn't have asked for a better dog!  I have trained him on my own with the help of my girls.   He is exactly who we needed and wanted.  Ty for that.

Ticks and Lyme disease

A pup that I sold in the metro area got Lyme Nephritis, a very serious condition!  Every season is tick season now and that my vet uses and recommends Bravecto (http://us.bravovets.com). One pill every three months.

Otis update

We are extremely happy with Otis.  He is an exceptionally well tempered dog/puppy who is fairly easy to train and loves to be around people. And of course, we get 100's of compliments on his handsome appearance!!

Bo is 1 year old

Hey Don,

It was good seeing you the other day. Bo is 1 year old & 75lbs. He's a super happy dog, who loves the outdoors. His walks consist of sniffing everything, marking his territory on every second tree, chasing leaves, and wanting to greet every dog we come across along our way- while wagging his tail the entire time! Here is a picture of Bo celebrating his first birthday last week:)

Merlin update

Merlin finally got a gold medal with the boys soccer team. He's really settled down in his third year. Good as gold, hung out in the truck all day and came out to visit in between games. The boys love him!

Magg update

HI Don!!

This is an overdue update on our girl! We couldn't have asked for a better dog! We have spent hours and hours training her and still continue as she is still young. I have kids coming in and out of the house for fiddle and she is always excited (haha) but very good with them. We still have her on Eukanuba but it has just been to busy to go up to Halifax so we have been buying it here in New Glasgow. Here is a picture compared to the last one I had sent you!

Smart as a whip

Don,

I probably should not be bothering you...but have to tell you: this pup is soooooo darned smart! She is definitely NOT just a pretty face. She nailed sit, down, and tinkle in a flash. Am tempted to write out lesson plans, but even I know my limits. Okay,  okay. ...so I DID write out various commands.. but little Tai is an absolute joy. Thank you again.

Best,
Nancy

Tick, Flea Medication

I haven’t used anything for ticks until today, I have been very lucky!    My vet, Eric CARNEGY has dogs and takes them into the woods very frequently. He uses Bravecto every three months.  Even though I’m afraid of the medication, I’m more afraid of ticks and the many diseases they can carry.  Puck, Lu and Dex got Bravecto today, at least I don’t have to worry about ticks during this hunting season, one chewable pill lasts for three months!

Max update

Well.... Hello!

Max is doing good now. We have had a few challenges with Max and continue to a bit. His food allergies are now under control. We finally found a vet that has helped us tremendously. Dr Little, who is just down the street from you guys has been his savior. She practices herbal medicine. It has certainly helped Max. His food allergies was causing his fur to fall out around his eyes. So much that he looked like he had a grey mask around his eyes. He had severe skin allergies due to the allergies and was peeing uncontrollable in his sleep. We had a saliva test done, this is a new method on how to determine allergies on dogs. He was pretty much allergic to everything!...... Lol.lol... Milk, wheat, chicken, fish, venison, pork, and the list goes on!.......lol.... It can only test things that he has become in contact with...... So needless to say,..... His diet is pretty strict. I make all of his food and it consist of beef... luckily not allergenic.........lol.... sweets potato, turnip, and carrots.

I have taken Maggey off the dry kibble food as well. So..... I spend a lot of time making their food!......lol..lol... But.... They are worth it!......lol.lol... He also has an issue with his eyes. More so with the left. He has hazy spots on them. His sight doesn't seem to be affected. We haven't really got into that problem too much yet. We are focusing right now on getting his diet under control. He is our precious boy! We are so lucky to have him!... Most days!......lol..lol.....He is so affectionate, loves snuggling, always has to be with us. Some days that is a challenge!...lol.lol...h Here are some recent pis of summer. It sure was a great one! Hope all is great with you guys!

Willow update

Hey Don,

Hope all is well.  Just a quick update on Willow and her very busy summer.  She is just over 10 mths old and is weighing in at about 59 lbs – very lean but in great shape.  We have a hard time keeping her weight on as she is SOOOOO active!  2 long walks daily, usually a swim in the river and lots of play.  She loves basketball and has destroyed 3 already….she also loves her “chuckit” and tracks the ball down with ease.  We spent time at a cottage in PEI this summer and I believe she would move to the beach if she had the chance.  We met a chocolate lab named “Jack” in a neighboring cottage, he was a 2 yr old boy and weighed about 95lbs!  Willow was not impressed with him at all! I have attached a few pictures of Willow on the beach and relaxing afterwards.

All the best, John
