Buck's 6th Birthday

Hi Don,

I wanted to send you a quick note to say that Buck celebrated 6 years today, and he's still doing great!

I attached a few pictures for you. The last one is the latest, taken today. Despite slowing down a tiny bit in the last year or so, he still never passes up an opportunity to get outside to play or chase a ball! His baby sister has grown to love him just as much as we do.

I hope all is well with you!

Take care,

Jenna

Miss Magg's update!

Hi Don,

Well we are in love with Magg that is for sure! She is doing great in her first week here. We are so pleased with her!

So far she has only had one accident in the house (my fault I didn’t catch it soon enough! haha), comes when she’s called, sits, and goes to her crate when asked (most of the time when we are standing near it haha). But that is all we have been working on as her little body gets pretty tired easily. When she is not sleeping in the crate she has found a favourite spot under our rocking chair.  We will keep the photos coming! :)

Lu earned the title of CD

Lu qualified again today in obedience. Three straight, giving her the title of CD. A very rare accomplishment for a pup that's just 8 months old!

Happy Birthday! Noah

Noah at 6 Years old

Noah at 6 years old

Daisy Mae at 7 months

Daisy Mae is growing up fast. She has quickly become a thriving member of our family. She is definitely more independent that our previous labs at this age, but our older lab knows how to put her in her place. She's been a lot of fun during the first 7 months. Still no sign of her going into her first heat. She has the wavy back of her father as I'm sure you can see in the pictures.

Thanks

Kevin and Angela

Otis update

Hi Don,

Good to hear from you!  We were just saying we needed to reach out and see how you were doing.  All is good here!  We have indeed been busy doing some minor house renovations and working with Otis on his training.  He is taking beginner obedience training lessons.  He's had 3 so far and is doing well, despite being one of the youngest there (and pooping right in the middle of the lesson!).  He whines most of the time and can be stubborn but he is such a character!!  Everyone loves him at the training kennel.

He loves to get into mischief and keeps us on our toes. Toilet paper and paper are his favourite toy right now, I can't tell you how much of it he has gotten a hold of and shredded...everywhere!  I had his vaccine papers on the niche next to the stairs, ready to bring to our first training session.  The night before our session, he ran down the stairs, stopped next to niche, reached over, grabbed the papers, ran away, hid and chewed them to tiny bits.  The biggest piece was about 2 x 3 inches!  I'm attaching a picture of him and another mess he made.  Brian and I were assembling some new outdoor furniture.  Otis grabbed the directions and within a minute had destroyed them.  Ahhh the joys!

He had a period about a month ago where he would just stand there and bark at us.  We finally picked up a citronella collar our vet recommended.  We used it only a few times (maybe 4-5 in a two week period), it worked really well.  However, the last time we took it off, Brian put it on the niche (same niche next to the stairs) and we haven't seen it since!   We are convinced he hid it!!  LOL!  He is such a content and lovable pup!  The whole family is on board with is training, exercise and playtime.  We are so enjoying him!!!  I'll send more pics as we take them.  This "Most Wanted photo" was at Parkland Kennels where we do our training.  I knew you'd enjoy it!

How are you?  Yes the weather has been incredible here and I can't wait to "play in the dirt" (planting flowers, etc).  Who is having a litter there??  What else is new?

Look forward to hearing from you!  Hoppy Easter to both you and Pierrette!!

Big hugs!!

Rhonda

Lu CKC Rally and Obedience Trials

Lu and I took part again today in both CKC Rally and Obedience Trials. She qualified in both with HIC (High In Class) for CD Obedience. We only need one more qualification for each to earn the titles of RN and CD to be placed after her registered name. She turns eight months old tomorrow, this is very unusual for such a young lab. Lu is as quiet and as trainable as Puck! We will start her retriever training next, expecting to earn WC (Working Certificate) before she becomes one year old. Lu’s PennHIP evaluation is as good as it can be and all her dna tests prove she is clear of all diseases common to Labs. She is a worthy new addition to our family.

Willow at about 4 months

Hi Don,

Hope all is well. Just dropping you an updated photo of Willow, she is a few days over 4 mths old and weighing in at 35lbs.  She is just back from a walk in the woods, getting ready for a nap.  In the background you can see her new arch nemesis, the local red squirrel taking a moment to grab a quick snack from the bird feeder.

It's been too long

Hi Don,

Just wanted to send you a quick note.  We got our Sadie (Sadie Too from Pat and Storm) from you 6-7 yrs ago now (my wife and kids know the exact birthday) and wanted to let you know what a wonderful companion she has been.  Her health has been fantastic and her temperament is second to none.  She's in great shape and loves to be loved!

Hope you are doing well.  We thought it would be good to drop in sometime with Sadie.
