We couldn’t be happier with Charlie

Hi Don,

We couldn’t be happier with Charlie. We have received several positive comments about her demeanour and appearance. As a result, we’ve sung your praises as a breeder and continue to recommend you and your dogs. Charlie loves the water, the car and eating/fetching sticks. She’s fantastic.
She is great with other dogs and her tail never stops wagging.
She has turned into the New Minas RCMP Detachment dog as well.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Regards
Rob

Vanessa with Noah!

This is wonderful Vanessa with wonderful Noah!

3 weeks & 3 days old

Isla the logger

If Isla duck career doesn’t work out she could always become a logger! She found this log of green hardwood in the forest and carried it 1km back to our place on today’s walk. Maybe I can train her to use that incredible nose of hers to hunt hardwood fireplace logs from the neighbourhood. No softwood, just hardwood. She is one funny dog for sure.

Saturday Morning Cuddles!

Hi Don,

Check out the attached pics that were taken earlier this morning ..... I think it's safe to say that Willow is pretty comfortable with my parents!! lol ðŸ’• She loves cuddling with my parents, especially my Dad! ❤️ And well, she's pretty comfortable with Brandy, too, of course!  Those two are best buds for life and love spending time together! 💞 But I'm not sure that Brandy enjoys having to share my Dad with Willow lol lol Check out her look in the pic of Willow laying on top of my Dad lol  Brandy does not look impressed! lol 🤣

Cash is absolutely amazing

Hi Don, hope my email finds you in good health in this scary world of Covid. Just wanted to let you know that I referred Todd Labrador to you as he's looking for a Lab, Todd's a great guy and well respected elder also he makes beautiful birch bark canoes. As for us, Cash is absolutely amazing and we couldn't be happier. I will snap a picture of him and send it along later this evening. I'm still trying to talk Courtney into another one....lol.

Take care and be safe,

Fun in the snow

This lucky fellow in NB has two pups from me, Tula and Cooey 😇

New Pup

Hi Don

I just wanted to say thanks for the chat this afternoon. I’ve been without my labs for almost 7 years and so I’m excited to be back in a position where I can get another one. I’ve just returned to Halifax after 2 years in New Zealand and 4.5 years in Montreal. I would honestly not even go with another breed since my experience with my two labs was so positive, but even more excited to be able to stick with the same breeder. It takes care of a lot of concerns and unknowns that come with researching a new breeder.

As mentioned a female yellow would be my preference. I did go on your site to see you current females and would say that Pea really caught my eye... a little gutted she has pups now and that they are spoken for, but good things come to those who wait!

Best regards,

Renee

In memory of our amazing dog Kona

Hi Don,

This is a note of sincere appreciation for our amazing dog Kona who passed away yesterday at the age of 14 years and 1 month.

Kona was friendly, loyal, calm, loving, athletic and tough.  She was truly the best dog ever and was loved by family, friends, neighbours and pretty much everyone she met.

Kona was obviously the product of great breeding as she lived a long and healthy life, much of which was spent in and around the water.  She loved lakes, oceans, rivers and streams (and swamps too!).

She also enjoyed the woods as hiking with the family was one her favourite things to do.  She even climbed Mount Carleton with us a number of years ago.

Attached are a couple of pictures from Kona's prime years.

Thanks again,

Steven & Kimberley

Belle is fabulous

Belle is fabulous and we are very happy with her. She just finished her second heat cycle. She has had phantom pregnancies after each. We had her at the vet recently and they said she is likely just very fertile lol. Has really started to calm down in the house as long she gets her time in the woods everyday! I get all kinds of compliments on her temperament is amazing.

Further information about Copper Toxicosis

Copper Toxicosis has different results from other disease tests, in that dogs who are just carriers of the disease mutation (ATP7B), are still considered at risk. The modifier mutation (ATP7A) can reduce the effects of the disease mutation, however, it does not terminate the symptoms all together.

You can click on this link for more information on the CT test and how to read the results:

LayLa update

Hi Don,

Loving the blonde bossy pants (aka LayLa) addition. She is funny, oh so loving and super smart!

I had her to the vet last week and she’s now 57 lbs. the vet was pleased with her weight, overall appearance and how gentle she was. She is amazingly agile ... can jump on the bed with such quiet landing that we don’t even notice 🙄. She has trained Max to open the door for her so she can get outside. Somehow they have their respective roles figured out.

We will be by in the next weeks to get more food. LayLa had another ear infection and was licking paws so there was something she was getting that she was allergic to. Now only Inukshuk and she’s fine. I suspect it was the dog biscuit I gave them after a walk.

Take care and lest we forget

Joyce

Mae update

 Hi Don,

By the time the season closes she will retrieve a lot of birds. She is just

starting to hunt both sides of the woods roads. Once the river freezes a bit

the ducks move up to my area, so will see how that goes. So far doing good

for a young dog in season one, lol.

Buck closing the loop

Hi Don,

Bruce enjoyed the first dusting of snow in Nova Scotia!

Hank update

Hi Don,

Hope everything is well with you!

We are having so much fun with Hank, he is an amazing addition to the family!!  Here are some pictures of Hank and the girls.

We also just thought you would want to know that Hank was diagnosed with juvenile cellulitis today. He became lethargic and his face started to swell up a few days ago. The vet has him on antibiotics and a steroid to clear it up. We expect a speedy recovery and are looking forward to getting him back to his playful energetic self!

We will keep you informed of his progress.

Have a great week
