Sady is doing great!!!
Sady is doing great!!! She's my constant companion :)
We also get a ton of compliments on how beautiful she is...and in the school yard she is by FAR the most well behaved dog, even though she's the only pup!!! She weighed in at 52lbs today...a lightweight compared to the boys lol!!!
One of these pics is from a couple of days ago in the lake by our house...first dip of the spring!! Another pic is from a couple of months ago with our son, but they still cuddle like this. And the last is from today.
Thanks for sharing and Happy Easter to all of you!!!
Shauna :)
Nya at 11 Weeks
Just wanted to let you know that Nya had her “Welcome Puppy” vet visit. She was weighed (15lbs) and the vet looked her over, clipped her claws and gave her/me a gift bag with a puppy blanket and puppy care book. She was so excited and overstimulated she wouldn’t sit still for much else. She did get her shots and they gave me the follow-up deworm pill to give her on the 19th. She is a very healthy, happy and active puppy.
She’s doing great!

Nya
Hi there!
I just wanted to let you know that Nya is doing great. She loves attention! She has grown a little bit since she got here, she’s 11 lbs now. Nya’s philosophy is “everything is chewable until I decide otherwise”. Everyone just loves her!
Take care,
Susan.

Bones at 7 weeks
Hello Don,
Bones chewing on a bone.....too cute..... he's very happy and oh smart too, must be good breeding!!! Seriously, he takes commands very well, as young as he is it is fantastic how fast he learns..........
Our 2 year old black lab "Allie" has been amazing (and just to say, she is a great dog, can't tell you how many compliments we get about her).........she's been very tolerant, having a puppy in her territory jumping at her like he does....
Ron and I are very happy to have two great dogs
Thanks
Lisa

Gibbs Update
Hope all is well with you guys. Things are going great here, Gibbs is learning how to sit on command by blowing one whistle (we did this when he was younger as well but over the winter have not been using it much) and to look for direction after his name is said, Over...followed by the hand direction, he's doing so well he learns things so fast it great.
Gibbs has also been using his nose a lot lately I think it's been since we started hiding the duck in the yard, after our last visit with you we've been working with him and the frozen duck a lot.
Over the weekend Corey took him in the woods for a walk and they came across some deer tracks Corey said Gibbs went nuts following the scent. We are loving and enjoying him so much I just wanted to pass on some of our news.
He'll be 1 next month, time has gone by so fast, we are looking forward to this summer I'm sure he'll love the water.
Take care, talk to you soon

Merlin, the latest
He is really starting to settle down and be more civilized - he has his half hour spurt and then lays down for a few hours!
Good little runner too, he is up to 6 miles. Love's the play fetch, the only thing is like his father I can't get him to stop licking!!! It drives me!! Oh well, could be worse - he could hate me!
He is just shy of 70 lbs of solid muscle - he's going to a brute that's for sure. He is out growing chain collars every two months!
I get lots of compliments on his coat. Billy says he gets the same with LuLu
Hope all is well!

Good field trials dogs frequently make poor hunting dogs
This article exactly reflects my opinions and experience. The general hunting public deserve to be protected against the notion that field trial dogs are the best choice for hunters.

Fake Facebook page
It has come to my attention that there is another person on facebook posing as me ( https://www.facebook.com/don.bates.376 ), there is only one Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/doindogskennel ) associated with me or Doindogs Kennel. You may want to unfriend of report this person as it is not me.
Thanks

Retrieve # 53 for the season
I couldn’t resist sending this photo from today (Feb 8, 2014) of Angus making his 53rd retrieve of the season. He was up to his neck in powdery snow all morning and still managed to find, flush and retrieve 3 snowshoe hares!
Best Regards
