Bigby update (pics)

Hi Don,

I thought I'd send an update and some photos of Bigby. He's doing very well. We have him enrolled in obedience classes and it has made a huge difference in him. He continues to impress me with his intelligence and his willingness to please! He's quite the joy to have around!

A dog for all season...

Hi Don,

Had Ruby out yesterday for some waterfowl in the morning and then upland in the afternoon. We got a mallard, a teal, two black ducks, a pheasant and two woodcock! She also flushed a grouse perfectly for me to complete the grand slam, but unfortunately I missed! What a great day! Obviously, I can begin to tell you how happy I am with Ruby – she’ll really coming into her own now in her third season, and I live for the next day afield!

Cheers,

-Dave

First hunt of '08

Ruby was working very nicely, although it was very thick cover so she’s usually unlikely to get much out or range in that kind of habitat. Still remains to be seen how she does the first time a rooster flushes out across and open field!

A great dog for a great guy

Hi Guys,

Tucker had his first day out hunting. He retrieved his first duck.

He almost had a goose but let it go. It was not entirely his fault. We had downed 2, he swam 50 yards to get one. We had to go after the other one in the boat. Tucker saw us go by and started to follow and released the goose. I am pretty sure the poor guy thought that we were leaving him, he stayed right on my foot for a while after that. I think he would have brought it back if we had taken off.

He did good considering it was his first day, first time in a motor boat with 2 other people and 2 other dogs. He needs to work on sitting still for long periods of time though!

Here are a couple new pictures

take care

Kadnook Puppy

Hello Don,

We exchanged emails a year or so ago.

I’m a retired US Marine who was stationed in Australia in the mid-90’s as an attaché. While there, I acquired one of Jill’s yellows, Kadnook Klever Kloggs, aka Tassie. She is now 13 and still fit as a fiddle though she is now retired from the duck blind.

I’d love another Kadnook dog but I believe Jill is no longer breeding as regularly as she once was and Nova Scotia is much closer to Virginia, where I now reside, than Australia. Jill recommended you to me; I know you have strong Kadnook bloodlines in your DoinDogs. A recommendation from Jill is all I need.

I’m interested in a yellow female in the summer of 2009. She’ll be a hunting dog and will compete in NAHRA.

I’m just making the initial inquiry to see what your breeding calendar looks like for 2009.

Thanks Don; best wishes this year in the duck blind!

Hudson update (pics)

Hi Don,

We just wanted to let you know how well Hudson is doing and send along some pictures of the past month with us. It seems like everytime he wakes up he is that much bigger. He loves chasing sticks, leaves, and digging in any dirt he can find! House training is going well, learning to sit, stay, and lay down too. He is such a great pup, people always ask who we got him from, Thanks again for everything!

Coco (pics)

Hi Don,

Here are a couple pictures of Coco from Labour Day weekend. She is growing like a weed. Sorry we haven't gotten to the vet to get her scanned yet but will let you know as soon as we do. She's due for a check up soon.

Ollie update (pics)

Hi Don,

Just wanted to send along a few(???) pics of our boy. Maybe it's because we have never owned a lab before but we think Ollie is the most handsome of dogs. 70 lbs now and not done yet!! He keeps us on the go but that is a good thing.
Regards,

Ed

Jasper (pics)

Hello there!

My goodness it has been a very long time since we have chatted or even
seen each other!!! Too long really!

We now have a 12 week old baby girl (Brooke) to add to our already
beautiful family. Kaleigh turned 2 the day that we brought Brooke home.
Both Kaleigh and Jasper are just amazing big sisters. As you can see
from the pictures, Jasper loves protecting Brooke just as she did with
Kaleigh. Kaleigh LOVES running through the water at our campground with
Jasper and throwing her bumper for her. :)

Anyhow, we hope to stop by soon. We see that you have a bunch of new
puppies for us to admire. We all have a bit of a cold and are heading
to Ottawa for my brothers wedding next week. We will hopefully be by
before the end of the month for a visit!

Take care!

Angela Johnson :)
