New Copper Toxicsis DNA Test

Copper toxicosis (Labrador retriever type) is an inherited metabolic disease affecting Labrador Retrievers, resulting in chronic liver failure. Dogs with copper toxicosis have a decreased ability to excrete dietary copper from the body resulting in excessive copper storage in tissues and organs, including the liver, which can result in liver damage and subsequent cirrhosis. Though the age of onset and speed of disease progression are variable, most affected dogs will present in middle age with non-specific signs of liver dysfunction including weight loss, lethargy, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. In late stages of disease, affected dogs may develop signs of liver failure including abdominal swelling, jaundice, and neurological dysfunction. Dogs found to have one or two copies of the Mutation may benefit from certain therapies.

Finn is simply the most amazing puppy

 Hi Don,

We have been meaning to send you an update for sometime. Other than a little since upset every so often, Finn is simply the most amazing puppy. He’s gentle, funny, perfect health, well behaved and just the most loveable companion two girls could ever want. Did I also mention he’s brilliant. He’s so smart and listens and doesn’t bark unless he really needs your attention to go outside .

We love him very much.

Here’s a little clip from today. And I will also send a few pictures as well.

Willow and Brandy for a little run in the woods

I took Willow and Brandy for a little run in the woods, along with my camera of course! lol 😉 They love going for runs together in the woods! 🙂 We came across a nice green patch of ferns for some pictures 📷 It's not always easy to get a decent picture of the two of them together lol  but attached are two of the better ones, plus an individual one of each 😉 They're both doin' great and still lovin' the 'dog days' of summer!! 🌞  My sister and I are planning to take both of them to the beach at low tide before supper so they can have another little run together 😉 They should both sleep good tonight! 💤
