Tui is doing really well!

Hi Don,

Tui is doing really well! We just finished his first puppy class and he's smart but strong-willed. He is a lab puppy so of course he is trying to chew everything!
He loves Riggs! Riggs likes him now but there was a bit of an adjustment because of the puppy teeth lol
Sending some pictures as well.

Happy Holidays to you, Pierrette and the dogs!

Dot and AI again

I expect to be breeding Dot again soon and am considering a repeat with AI. Denis lost KEY after an encounter with a porcupine when he was about one year old.  As far as I know, all the others from the only litter from Dot/Ai are all healthy?  Please let me know how happy or unhappy you are with your dogs and if I should breed her again with Ai.  I would expect they like their food and LOVE the water.

Roxy in the snow

Hey Don!

How's the weather in Nova Scotia? We got our 1st bit of snow yesterday. Calling for more tonight and then 9 degrees and rain on Sunday! Typical Newfoundland weather. Here's a pic of Roxy out enjoying the snow today. She loved it :) She's doing well, in heat again now.

New method to repair Cruciate Ruptures

I was at Central Nova Animal Hospital in Truro today and met a vet who repairs Cruciate Ruptures via a method similar to the TPLO method.  His method is called T.T.A., he told me it works as well as TPLO, less invasive and less expensive.  Dr Rushton has repaired most cruciate problems in this area via TPLO, with excellent success.

Rosie is incredible

The temperament of Rosie is incredible. I cannot believe how calm she can be already. Of course when people first arrive at the house she can hardly keep her feet on the floor!   But she does. So well behaved. When it's just us at home and no guests she is perfectly happy to snuggle on the couch or just play ball in the back yard. Whatever you offer her she is perfectly happy. I am amazed by her temperament.

And I have to say, after all that time wanting a chocolate, I am so glad we went with the black. She is so beautiful. Her coats just shines.

We have had her to the vet twice since then too and they gave her a good look over.

We'll talk soon.

He is such an amazing dog.  He is a big brother and so gentle with Nora.  He is so handsome, we always get compliments about how perfect he is.

He loves his daily hikes and looking forward to swimming!!

Thanks so much for breeding such an amazing dog.

Bennett update

Hey,

Just a quick note to let you know how things are going with Bennett. He is fitting in perfectly. I am not saying we haven't had some "what the hell is he chewing on now?" moments but he is a smart, beautiful dog. It is true we definitely forgot what is was like to have a puppy but we wouldn't change a thing now. He is a great addition to the family. So thank you for another great pup.

I couldn't have asked for a better dog!

Don, Luck is all boy.  I understand you breed a lot of dogs and Luck may be distant.  I assure you luck has turned out to be the neighbourhood dog.  We have a lot of young children in my area and luck has turned non dog people into dog lovers.  For some kids in the neighbourhood he has changed their perception of dogs.  I couldn't have asked for a better dog!  I have trained him on my own with the help of my girls.   He is exactly who we needed and wanted.  Ty for that.

Ticks and Lyme disease

A pup that I sold in the metro area got Lyme Nephritis, a very serious condition!  Every season is tick season now and that my vet uses and recommends Bravecto (http://us.bravovets.com). One pill every three months.

Bo is 1 year old

Hey Don,

It was good seeing you the other day. Bo is 1 year old & 75lbs. He's a super happy dog, who loves the outdoors. His walks consist of sniffing everything, marking his territory on every second tree, chasing leaves, and wanting to greet every dog we come across along our way- while wagging his tail the entire time! Here is a picture of Bo celebrating his first birthday last week:)

Merlin update

Merlin finally got a gold medal with the boys soccer team. He's really settled down in his third year. Good as gold, hung out in the truck all day and came out to visit in between games. The boys love him!
