Dyson update

Hello Don,

I know it has been a long time since i have been in touch with you....too
long, but I wanted to tell you about Dyson. As you may remember, he turned 4
this year and today, for the very first time I took him to start his new
role. He has become a therapy dog with St. Johns Ambulance and we are
volunteering at the RCU at Dartmouth General. He did awesome and all his
moms (Yew) traits shone through today. We met with 25 seniors and he was
fantastic. People had a hard time accepting that this was his first time, he
was very calm and did a fantastic job.

I hope that you and Pierette are doing ok. I will email you a picture when
we get our uniform.

Take care

Michelle and Dyson

Noah update

Hi Don

How are you doing?  I hadn’t  written in a while so I thought I’d let you know how Noah is doing.  He is just GREAT!!

He completed his scenting course and he really did very well at that – especially the human scenting and was able to find the hidden person in the various barrels really quickly.  The instructor was amazed at the speed at which he ran – She first said to start him closer to the barrels like the other dogs but he was off with such speed that he overshot and had to skid around and come back.  So we just took him to the very end of the arena and let him go from there J

I have also entered him in two shows in December – more for the experience that anything else.  We have a trainer to refine his and my show training and he really enjoys that.  He has been seen by a number of professional handlers and everyone is impressed even if he is a more ‘field’ looking lab.  We shall see how that goes!

He also completed his second level obedience class but I was not too satisfied with the class nor the teacher as the class was held from 9 – 10 which was very late for Noah who usually goes to sleep around 8pm J I am looking for another class with something geared toward the CKC obedience titles.

I hope everything is going well with you, your family and the dogs.

Best regards,

Vanessa & Noah

Qualified with Ai

I qualified with Ai in Moncton with a score of 184.  I thought he earned High In Class but when I looked at the ribbon it said High In Trial!  I will now turn my attention to Jill.

Buck Update (pics)

Hi Don,

We have been meaning to touch base and send you some pictures of Buck for a while! Since we picked him up in June he's been a delight - He could entertain us all day, every day I'm sure! He loved the water this summer, and he's getting smarter and bigger every day! He's almost 7 months old now! Needless to say he's a wonderful dog, and he's great company around the house:) We couldn't be happier!! I've attached a few pictures to show his progress over the past months - As you'll see, he made it to the wedding! And Nick has had him out hunting a couple of times!

On another note, we picked up a bag of Eukanuba Puppy food the other day, and there is a new bag, but the portion sizes for weight/age have changed as well. For example, Buck is about 50lbs now, and almost 7 months old. On the old bag it says we should be feeding him 5 - 5 & 1/4 cups, but on the new bag it says 4 & 3/4. Just wondering if you know anything about this? Everything on the bag is the same, it seems to be the same food, just a different bag - But we're just wondering why the amount we should feed him per day has changed?

Thanks,

Jenna & Nick
